Steel rail, mainly used on the railway, and matched with the switch, to ensure that the train can walk without turning. The steel rail is usually composed of two parallel rails which fixed on the sleepers.Steel rail is made up of rail brace, fastener, rail pressure, plywood, elastic strip, railway spikes and other railway fasteners. The steel rail's function is to guide the vehicle wheels forward, withstand the enormous pressure of the wheel, and transfer a part of pressure to the sleepers. So steel rails must provide a continuous, smooth, rolling surface with a minimum friction force, to ensure the stable operation of trains. In the electrified railway or automatic block section, the steel rail can also be used as a track circuit. Rail connections can be divided into two parts- rail joint fastening and intermediate fastening.and rail joint fastening include rail joint, rail bolt and spring washer, etc.

Rail Joint Fastening- Rail Bolt

Rail bolt, also called track bolt, used to fasten rail joints to the rails, or fix the sleepers and rails together. The size of rail bolts change with the requirements of the section of rail. The proper diameter and length of the track bolt can be determined by checking the applicable railway standard.

Spring washers are employed in applications where assemblies need a part to take up play, eliminate rattle, maintain assembly tension, compensate for expansion or contraction in materials after assembly, or to absorb intermittent shock loads and provide a controlled reaction under dynamic loads.
